Who developed ViSTA Blueprint?

ViSTA Blueprint is produced by a team lead by Beth Chase, a Strategic Analyst with Chase Advancement, who specializes in nonprofit organizational development.  She has over 34 years working with nonprofit organizations.

Beth believes that the time of the traditional performance review of leaders of nonprofit organizations is over and the time of transforming nonprofits through multisource team evaluations has come.

Why did we create ViSTA Blueprint?

We created ViSTA Blueprint because we wanted to help boards and leaders of nonprofit organizations get the knowledge they need to protect and advance their organizations.

Leaders of nonprofits who are making a significant difference in our world today tell us that their success is based upon assessing and measuring the outcomes of their programs, activities and events.

While I affirm the importance of assessing your organization's outcomes, this is not what ViSTA does.  Rather, ViSTA is about identifying the core strengths and vulnerabilities of your organization and of the men and women who are implementing the activities of the organization. 

What is the primary purpose of ViSTA Blueprint?

The purpose of ViSTA Blueprint is to provide a system where the leaders of the organization obtain the answers to the following three questions:

1.What are we doing well, why are we doing it well and what can we do to make it even better?
2. What are we not doing well, why are we not doing it well and what can be done to improve it?
3.What roles/functions/activities are needed in the organization to protect what has been entrusted to them and to advance the organization to the next level?

What are the components of ViSTA Blueprint?

ViSTA consists of training videos and companion tools such as sample policies, forms, assessments, and surveys. We have worked at keeping ViSTA as simple as possible while accomplishing the three goals listed above.

ViSTA Blueprint takes a pulse on the:

·        effectiveness of the board as one entity;

·        impact of individual board members;

·        leadership of the board chairman;

·        board's knowledge level in governance;

·        board's supervisory and pastoral relationship with the executive director;
